The Guerrilla Girls on Tour will perform March 10, 2009, at 7 p.m in the Student Union Theatre at The University of Akron. GG’s On Tour is a New York City based touring theatre company that creates fresh and original productions celebrating women’s history.
At The University of Akron they will present their work ”Feminists Are Funny. ” Described as a fast and physical romp through some of the prominent and amusing women of the 20th century, “Feminists are Funny” is reported to be hysterical and historical.
It is a tradition at Guerrilla Girls on Tour performances for the audience to wear guerrilla masks just like the performers. Download your mask here from the GG’s on Tour Web site. You can also visit Guerrila Girls on Tour on Facebook.
Come join in the fun and learn at the same time. There is no admission and all are welcome
The program is sponsored by the Women’s Studies Program at The University of Akron. For more information on the program visit www.uakron.edu/ws. A complete listing of Women’s History Month events is also available on the Web site and on this blog’s Events page.
